My life has changed for the better, as soon as I told my 'loved-ones' how I really felt about my stutter. Before that, I was always 'okay', 'fine', 'great!'. Well, I wasn't, and I needed others to realize that as well. When they knew, I could finally bitch about my problem and start to recover. You need people in you life who will support this journey, although you have to do everything yourself. No one really gets it, except other people who stutter, but it still helps if you have support. I'm much more social now than I was, but I really had to force myself to do certain things. I think my biggest 'thing' was going to Italy for 3 months by myself, alone, stuttering and all: scary, but when I came back, I had the feeling I could do anything. And if you can't go to Italy, just take small steps out of your comfortzone, be brave!
