Hi Grant, this is a tough line to draw. Based on my personal contact and knowledge of PWSC and PWS, it seems that PWS who do not primarily and "successfully" hide their stuttering (due to whatever reasons) they may have covert-strategies (e.g. switching out words) although they are not covert stutterers. Some PWSC who eventually allow themselves to stutter without the use of their covert strategies may have a significant stutter. There is no empirically based definition to say "Who is covert" and "What is covert" but there are grassroots forum discussions, podcast conversation and a handful of publications. What is your take on this? - Jill
