Hi Paul, you made some thoughtful points. Thanks for sharing them with me. Very true, children especially would benefit from an adult with knowledge on the topic. The work being done to help parents/teachers recognize covert stammering is not explicitly stated as such. Topics typically may include focus on the cognitive and emotional ramifications of stuttering, which can be benefit children who covertly stutter or have a mild audible stutter. The organizations FRIENDS and the National Stuttering Association (both in the Sates) have excellent parent involvement and increase the awareness of the holistic impact stuttering may have on a child. Your question has inspired me to delve into this matter. Thanks! –Jill
