Dear Jill, Thank you so much for your incredibly interesting and insightful article. I have a question for you: I understand that active listening would be one of the most helpful reactions to have if a PWSC “came out” to me. However, in your opinion, what would be a few of the best verbal responses I can make that would be empowering and encouraging to PWSC? I ask this because I am honestly afraid of unintentionally saying something that could come off as demeaning or patronizing, or that could discourage them from “coming out” to others in their lives.
