I thought this was a very interesting and powerful piece. It goes to show how much an individual's views on stuttering, including their own, is such a critical piece to therapy, increased fluency, and self-acceptance. Has anyone had a remarkable 'coming out' of stuttering experience? If so, would you be comfortable sharing? Why was it so difficult/or was it not at all? As we use Ellen and her coming out of sexual preference, do you think that a person of 'high society' to come out into the public eye, bring awareness to stuttering and their own personal experiences with it, will help? As Ellen's story helped thousands of individuals, would the same be true for those that stutter? Would a public figure's acceptance and issues with stuttering sway a large portion of the public's own opinions on stuttering?
