Hi Aisha, thank you for sharing, I can sense your enthusiasm! First let me clarify what I stated in the article, I’m afraid you took the example out of context. I suggested that society has a way of over-simplifying that a person is either straight or gay, stutters or is fluent. This is NOT the case in regards to the individual’s reality. The journey is far more complex than this binary division (e.g. straight or gay). Acceptance of self does sometimes lead to advocacy, in the meantime we must advocate for others who deserve a voice.
