Hi Ann, great question! Thanks for posting! Coming out of the stuttering closet is one of the elements of transitioning out of covert stuttering. Another part of the transition includes saying what you want to say when you want to say it, even if the speech includes stuttering. Additionally, decreasing the emotional response to the moment of stuttering is part of the process as well as cognitive elements. Thanks for asking for the clarification. Kind regards, Jill
