Hello! I am a student at ASU and I am currently in a fluency disorders course with Dr. Klein. I really enjoyed your article! I must admit I knew very little about stuttering and fluency until this semester. If I understood correctly we must begin by the PWS becoming ok with their stutter. They must realize it is not their fault or anyone’s fault and that it is ok to stutter. As in any case the role of the family is essential. However, what do we do when parents don’t buy into the psychological aspect? They want the fluency not the acceptance of the stuttering? Should we simply educate them, or have you had any experiences in which this was the case? Thanks!
