First, thank you so much for this paper!! I think if more SLPs targeted the counseling aspect, it would make life a lot easier for PWS. As a PWS and SLP myself, I couldn't agree more that trying to accept the stuttering is key. The less avoiding the better. I think what's also important (as Manning discusses in his most recent text) is the inevidability of regression . Accepting oneself during therapy is not enough. Accptance has to continue long after therapy has ended. If stuttering persists for us, why not be as comfortable as we can with it?
