Great paper, very nice to read something so insightful and understanding. // As a stammerer myself I instinctively had the feeling that it wasn't my fault - I never developed strong feelings of self loathing or anything like that. Maybe you would need to ask my parents how they managed it! At group therapy I often felt almost like I shouldn't be there, because I didn't share a lot of these issues. // To me, cultivating self esteem, getting things in context and self acceptance is by far the most useful and fruitful form of 'therapy'. I have made progress by accepting myself and my strengths and weaknesses, and moving towards improvements while trying not to worry about failures. // Many people suffer to a much greater extent than me, so I guess this is easy to say! Anyway, thanks a lot for your article.
