One more comment. I agree with what you have written. I am a fairly fluent person and enter all speaking situations with out fear and avoidance. However, I still use the advertising because it makes me comfortable. A few years back, I was interviewed on Channel 4 (NBC) here in Tucson. The reporter was an intense rude woman who talked very fast and really unnerved me. Finally, to survive, I just advertised that I stutter and used some voluntary stutter. It kind of unnerved her. Later in the year, she was arrested for shop lifting and now has left the TV station ! I was very happy that I never came across as a highly fluent person because that meant a lot to several people who stutter here in Tucson. Several positive comments were made after the live TV show.
