I really enjoyed reading your article. It really helped me to understand just how important it is for a person who stutters to address their fears, avoidances, and any shame they may feel. I like how you talked about the fact that a lowered percentage of stuttering will mean nothing as a measure of success if the person still holds onto their fears, avoidances, and shame about stuttering. My question for you is have you ever had a person who was in denial about their fears or a person who would rather not address how they feel and just work fluency shaping/modification? If so, with your beliefs on addressing the emotional aspect of stuttering being important, how did you handle the case?
