Hi Marianne, Thank you for responding. Yes, it's most important to talk to parents about trying to avoid formation of the "iceberg". When children begin to "fear and avoid and develop shame of stuttering", the iceberb begins to develop and grow. If parents are accepting of the child's stuttering, that encourages the children to not hide their stuttering. When children begin to learn tools to smooth their speech, their tools will work much better than when they are trying to hide stuttering. J-J-Judith
