Thank you for posting these ideas! I'm currently enrolled in my first externship and used one of your ideas today. I used the initiating topics of interest activity and had each member of the group explain his/her interest out loud. The students really enjoyed this activity because it provided them with the opportunity to be the "expert." After, we went over whether or not the students used their "tools" in speech today. It was great!
