Hi! I really enjoyed reading about the connections between golf and stuttering. I just started to learn to play golf this summer in group lessons and in addition to trying to hit the ball, there was the factor of constantly comparing myself to others and feeling fearful, nervous and embarrassed when the ball was hit incorrectly. My question is, do you think there is such a thing, in either fluency or golf, that self-monitoring and awareness can be overdone and create more problems? In other words, if a person is too aware about all of the techniques, such as speaking slowly or having the right hand placement on the club, this could create more stress and tension? Thanks!
