Hi, Thank you for your comments. I think the vigilance issue is an important one. When I am on the golf course, my vigilance consists of only a few "swing thoughts."...tempo and turn. For the PWS, I think it's necessary to understand the normal speech mechanism, to get in touch with tension/relaxation, to control rate of speech, etc. However, once the client is made aware of these...with a lot of repetition and practice, the goal is for these "tools" to become more automatic...not requiring constant vigilance. Then, if the PWS starts to lose control, he can go back to basics, review the use of "tools," and work towards regaining the added control. Does that help? elise
