Hi Michael, I totally agree that we cannot possibly think that the struggle and challenges faced by the PWS are equal to those faced by the golfer. That was clearly not the intent of the article. However, the motor similarities and cognitive similarities experienced by both are fairly similar, in that in order to perform well both need to understand the normal movements associated with the task, both are impacted by tempo and muscle tension, and both appear to be significantly impacted by the "head" part of the process. The self doubt, fear, not feeling good enough, and avoidance are evident in both stuttering and golf. The analogy is meant to be a helpful therapeutic comparison to assist the PWS gain more insight into the nature of his stuttering and his response to it. Thoughts? elise
