Elise, I truly enjoyed this comparison of the game of golf and stuttering. It really "hit home" with me because I am a passionate golfer and I was really able to make the connections that you discussed within your article. I never would have made the connection between stuttering and golfing and therefore, this article is fascinating and truly revolutionary. My question for you is what are your thoughts about how frustration may play into the management of stuttering? I know that when I'm playing golf, and shots are not going my way or I'm just having a sloppy game, I get frustrated within myself and question 'why aren't my shots going straight or why can't I make my putts?'. I was thinking, as I read your article, how much of a role does frustration play when managing stuttering? I can imagine that people who stutter have "bad days" when the stutter is worse or just can't overcome an obstacle; how does this affect the stutter, the attitudes/feelings towards the stutter and the approach/methods used to manage the stutter? Thanks for your time and I hope to hear back soon.
