HI Nancy, Thank you for your comments. I have talked with clients about tempo and muscle tension and made analogies to the sport they may play. Basketball and tennis have come up at times. However, my own experience from the cognitive standpoint was with Golf, so that's why is used it in the comparison to stuttering. I am sure that a clinician who might also be a tennis player, gymnast, etc. might also draw the same conclusions. The thing about golf is that it is usually played by the individual as an individual sport. The act of communication is also an individual activity, so the analogy seems more meaningful. elise
