Hi, my name is Lisa and I'm a graduate student interested in ISAD:) I enjoyed reading your paper and can see how much fun and spontaneity this can bring to the treatment program if done with a great attitude. Your paper spells out why and how desensitization is important in the process towards modifying stuttered speech. Do you find that by reducing a client's sensitivity towards their disfluencies, that their fluent speech increases? Does your plan reprogram emotions or behaviors? I noticed that you wrote responses about your clients who did not yell out on the subway challenge, might have regreted not doing so. While your plan handles negative emotions head on, it also breaks down learned behavior such as communication breakdowns when answering the telephone. I find this aspect affecting behavior very interesting. Sometimes I think learned behavior can be just as bad as vices sometimes; they have a way of holding us back. I'm curious to hear your response!
