I like the suggested activities for "extreme desensitization." I am not someone who stutters, but I am very shy. I have found that when I work in groups I tend to self-advertise this quality and it makes it easier for me to participate because I feel like others are more understanding when I do so. I think that self disclosure for someone who stutters is a great way to allow the person to be more comfortable when speaking. I have a question, have you found that people who stutter tend to gravitate towards one of the three desensitization methods more than the others or are they all used in conjunction with one another to facilitate the desensitization process? You mentioned that some people who stutter were unable to complete the "subway challenge." How do you move forward with extreme desensitization and boost their confidence in speaking after they hit a bump in the road like that? Thank you!
