I presented on this topic in the Czech Republic on Friday at a wonderful ISAD conference. The ideas were very new to most of the therapists but they expressed seeing a real need for fear reduction activities. I was concerned that ideas about self advertising might be rejected when I learned that stuttering was stigmatized greatly. Therapists for example must display perfectly fluent speech. Ideas about educating the public, working on avoidance reduction, and stuttering more openly were very well received. The clinicians seemed excited to start working on these strategies in their therapy. It was great to have been a part of this exchange!
