Hi Pam: One of the things we had hoped for in writing this paper was to get the definitions of stuttering from people who stutter. We have tried, informally, to ask folks to define stuttering from their perspective and most include a lot more than disfluency. Perhaps what we are getting at is "Why are you trying not to stutter?" What's going on that leads one to that point?
