One part of this speech that stuck with me was the story about quitting baseball. Knowing firsthand how little boys love the sport (especially when they're good at it), the idea that stuttering could be so terrible as to drive a kid away just seems heartbreaking to me. Twice I've assigned your speech to clients to get the permission to stutter message. When I asked them what they thought, one said the family situation hit close to home, the other that choosing a major based on speech demands was a powerful statement. Both times, I said, "Come on man! He was 12 years old and stopped playing baseball!" OK, my counseling skills need work...
