Have you ever wondered what your environment would be like if everyone were the same? That is what come to my mind as I think about people who stutter. People who stutter are unique individuals that add variety to the world. No one can really understand the attitude and emotions that go along with stuttering, but it is understandable why stutters shy away from talking. Going to school and having to interact with peers is a very challenging task. Teasing is very prevalent now and is a highly related issue. I am glad you were able to overcome it. You stated you were the "target" of being teased, but little did you know someone else was being teased about an imperfection they have. You were not alone! It annoyed me as I read your biggest problem was the teacher. You would think teachers would have been more educated about your speech impairment and would have had more sympathy than your peers. If teachers were more knowledgable about stuttering, they would have know research states stutters are very intelligent, instead of thinking you did not know the answers. Enrolling into Vilko Mazi Association was a turning point in your life, as though you may have been going in blind folded thinking the results would have been the same as when you were seen by the speech therapist at the health centre. As you progressed through the levels, you saw a new you! You knew it would be a process, but at the same time you had encouragement, hope, higher self-esteem, confidence, progression and you made accomplishements. The third level of therapy is when you were at your peak. You went from speaking in smaller environments to talk shows and radio. You joked about becoming a radio star, but if you do not you should have a regular segment on any media outlet discussing stuttering. That would help you and others who are struggling trying to come out of their shell as you have done. Speaking to women is not a challenging task for you now! REMEMBER SPEAKING IS BEAUTIFUL....
