In most cases I have seen, stuttering developed in time coincidence with the neurological event. Rarely, it occurs weeks later. Aphasic symptoms however are possible to overlie stuttering symptoms. In my empirical study more than 50% of neurogenic stuttering clients developed their stuttering symptoms on the day of the neurological event.
