It depends. Neurogenic stuttering is not very common. A reliable incidence rate cannot be stated. Neurogenic stuttering occurs much rarely than developmental stuttering does. In my empirical study (2009) I found a prevalence rate of about 550 neurogenic stuttering clients who are treated in institutions for speech and hearing science in Germany each year.
