As there are great differences between one client with developmental stuttering and another as well as between one neurogenic stuttering client and another it is hard to state an overall efficiency of methods in both groups of clients. You can find different opinions in international literature with regard to treatment methods in neurogenic stuttering clients. While some authors found those methods used in developmental stuttering therapy suitable for neurogenic stuttering therapy as well others suggest the use of different kinds of treatment including medical treatment or thalamic stimulation. It would be interesting to go on completing the “multidimensioned jigsaw puzzle” by more research, looking at type and severity of symptoms, etiology, type and location of lesion and so forth in order to provide the evidence-based treatment.
