Depending on the child`s age and symptomatology you might choose between direct or indirect treatment strategies. Specific stuttering therapy methods might be “slowing speech rate” (speaking as slow as a snail moves) and see if there are any changes in speech fluency. Working with older children you might even try modification techniques, for example using easy onset and pull-out to get out of a block. Additionally, focus on the psycho-social factors (e.g. support participation in every-day activities and handling of stuttering).
