Hello! I am a speech-language pathology graduate student at Saint John’s University. I thought that this article was very interesting and I enjoyed reading it! One thing that I learned in my fluency class this semester, is that as a clinician it is important to understand the needs and wants of each client and to become attuned to each client (for example, understanding how he or she feels about their stuttering). This idea to learn a new motor skill (in this case, juggling), is a great way to accomplish this goal! I was just curious -- do you think that it is necessary for the clinician or the family members of the child to participate in this activity (more so than the child)? In addition, will learning this new motor skill (juggling) have a direct effect on the child’s fluency? Thank you!
