Great stuff Judy - I have been to both Joe and John's workshops on learning to juggle at the Friend's conferences. It is interesting to me to see how you applied it to graduate students' work, as they really have the impetus to figure out how to make stuttering therapy engaging and meaningful for clients. I understand the philosophy behind learning a new skill and applying it to using a new skill for stuttering management. I wonder if there are are other similar exercises that can be done to illustrate this point to kids and teens. My reason for wondering is that I've heard kids and teens who have been attending FRIENDS conferences for several years comment that "here we go again, we're going to learn to juggle." I think the analogy is great as a learning tool for grad students who might have never such a way to show how hard it might be to internalize the learning of new skills. ~Pam
