Dr.S is quite amazing. I truly think it is the relationship piece, and the acceptance, and desire Dr. S has to get to know me as a person that makes the difference. I know there are other things. I will be working with him this year to both maintain my fluency and figure out what it is that he does or is, that makes it work both in and out of the therapy session. Don't get me wrong though, I have ups and downs. I truly believe it is related to my generalized anxiety, no longer about speaking. However, stuttering seems to me to be a side-effect of when I am feeling the anxiety kick in from other things in daily life. Some people get a stomach ache, others a headache, I have trouble maintaining my controls and my fluency. Thanks to Dr. S, I will never slip down below a certain level ever again, but the occasional ups and downs are to be expected, and are accepted if not loved. Perhaps we can meet some time while I am working with Dr. S. If I can help others while on my journey, all the better:)
