Ross- That is an excellent question. I have yet to exactly define what it is about this therapy situtation. For one, it is not clinical feeling, and I don't feel as though I am a subject or a patient. It is a personal touch that lets me know my clinician cares about me and has an empathy for my challenge. My particular speech therapist is a PWS which is what initially drew me to him. It is now the least significant part of our connection. Get to know your clients. Let them know that you care about them. I never feel as though I am on the clock with my therapist. Personal touch, genuine interest and a passion for what he does. That's what i think makes the difference.
