Keisa- It would have to be elementary school. I stuttered terrible in elementary school. I would get teased, and block, and resort to punching the offender in the stomach. As a result, from 1st to about 5th grade, I was not exactly Mr. Popularity in school. With a move to a new town with my family, some therapy, a little maturity (I was only in 5th grade) and some good friends who accepted me for who I was, I came through that period of my life no worse for wear. The next toughest period would be young adulthood, moving from college into the real world, and even some of my college years. Moving away from friends who knew and accepted me, to an unfamiliar environment was very challenging. It was therapy that got me through.
