It is so important that you are informing PWS about how to be smart consumers and not be fooled by "quick cures." In a broader sense, one could say that at the heart, the real problem with searching for a gimmick, or cure is that the locus of control over stuttering shifts from the individual onto the gimmick or cure and the PWS becomes reliant on it instead of learning, through effective therapy to control thier stutter. This idea about the locus of control is something we have discussed in class and I would appreciate your feedback on this idea. Isn't the real issue here that PWS (or who are overweight or smokers, etc for that matter) often look outside of themselves for a solution when the real power lies within. What do you think?
