I think this paper is extremely relevant to the changing world and the newer generations who rely heavily on the internet for information. I know that whenever I hear a new diagnosis the first thing I do to find information is Google it. This usually leads to tons of sources often with different ideas and no real answer. I am currently a graduate student studying speech-language pathology and believe that one of the most important things I can do for my future clients and their families is provide them with information. I’m sure that many clients, like myself, run right to the internet and try to find more information regarding their “diagnosis”. While there are many sites that provide valuable information there are also many that do not. Educating people on which sites they may want to visit would be a great way to provide information and help prevent them from falling into one of these terrible scams. Education is a powerful thing.
