As a graduate student, I often have a very irregular sleep schedule. I do not stutter but I have noticed that when I have had a night that was off of my schedule, it is often very difficult to formulate complete sentences the next day! I would relate this to the difficulties that PWS would feel when their sleep is inconsistent. Have you done any studies on people who do not stutter to compare your findings of their speech characteristics? I think it would be interesting to know if sleep deprivation has the same impact on speech characteristics in stutterers and non-stutterers.
