Hi Julienne. I think naps would be an effective measure to improve cognitive functioning but not so much for decreasing stuttering. As naps have short duration, they trigger more deep sleep than REM sleep. Deep sleep may improve cognitive functioning. But it is in REM sleep that muscle relaxation occurs, which would be useful for decreasing stuttering. Sandra
