When focusing on sleep hygiene are you more concerned about the the overall amount of hours for sleep or achieving the appropriate amount of REM sleep for muscle relaxation? Since REM sleep is dependent on staying asleep to obtain optimum percentage of muscle relaxation how would you suggest changes in sleep hygiene for children that consistently wake up in regular intervals in the night?
