Hi Emily. In my clinical practice, I see harmful effects of sleep deprivation are more pronounced as younger is the client. So I’ve already had several cases of very young children (2-4 years old) who experienced a complete recovery from stuttering when sleep deprivation was solved. I’ve already had several cases of children (5-10 years old) who experienced a significant recovery from stuttering when sleep deprivation or sleep-disordered breathing was solved. And, finally, I’ve had several cases of adults who experienced significant recovery from stuttering (but less than children) when sleep problems were solved. So, it seems to me that as soon as sleep problems are solved, the effects on stuttering are more pronounced. Sandra
