Hi Andrea. 1) I would say that it is rare to see absolutely no improvement of stuttering after the application of sleep hygiene measures or after solution of sleep problems. In fact, I’ve had just one client with this pattern of no absolutely no improvement. The others clients always experienced some recovery from stuttering. Some of them do not experienced a great recovery, that’s true, but some recovery was found. I do not really know why that client did not experience any recovery. That does not make any sense to me! 2) Yes, I know some people are known as “light sleepers” and others as “deep sleepers”. Honestly speaking, I’ve never done this question for my clients. Maybe “light sleepers” have more REM sleep than deep sleep and this would be good for muscle relaxation and stuttering. But it is just an speculation. Sandra
