Hi Carolyn. 1) Sleep deprivation impairs cognitive learning (vocabulary, word fluency, reading, writing) and also impairs motor learning. So I think knowledge about sleep physiology, sleep disorders, and sleep hygiene measures is useful for all SLPs, not just for SLPs that work with PWS. 2) I think it is possible that stuttering worsens when we feel more tired in the day because, in these periods, we are not so able to concentrate and apply speech strategies to improve fluency. In fact, I have some clients who report they are more fluent in the morning (when they are not tired) and less fluent in the evening (when they are more tired). Sandra
