What a great way to compare two things - when the PWS is trying to 'hide' their stuttering, or conscientiously trying to avoid stuttering- to wearing clothing that is especially dressy or not as comfortalbe, or not "everyday wear" for somebody. It was also a great analogy to use regarding when a PWS does not hide from their stuttering and when the PWS is more free flowing - with wearing one's comfortable clothing, like wearing comfortable older jeans that are broken in. Have you ever also potentially used the parallel/analogy of the PWS using methods that have been learned for successfully generating fluent speech as a way to wear "comfortable" clothing? That is, once someone gets used to using certain fluency-eliciting methods that works for them for eliciting fluent speech, this could potentially be used as a parallel to wearing the "comfortable jeans"/comfortable clothing, and become a part of everyday comfortable, not hiding from stuttering life? Again what a great paper and great analogies and thank you for sharing your paper.
