Hi Ross - thanks for reading and posting. As to your question, I have never really considered "fluent speaking" becoming the comfortable clothes, as I have never really achieved fluent speech. I tried fluency shaping therapy for about 2 and 1/2 years, and it didn't really work for me. (I was told I was not "embracing it" enough.) So, given that, just stuttering openly and easily is the comfortable clothes for me - but I can see how someone who has successfully infused fluency techniques into their speech might be able to see the other parallel.
