Hello Pamela! I saw your article and immediately found it to be a unique and fabulous piece! The first article of yours I read was 'The “way” found me' in my fluency disorders class. That reading was key to my first piece of literature for understanding struggles and accomplishments a person who stutters faces. It was a wonderful article. It’s amazing how at times while reading that article I felt happy (with the connection you had with the high school kids at the induction ceremony & how well you did) angry (so upset with your supervisor & his cruel, unpleasant words) and heart-broken for you all within the 15 minutes it took me to read. Afterwards, I felt a sense of pride for you, that you overcame these struggles and ended up feeling the sense of belonging. Also, the advocate and leader you are today has gotten me inspired! I enjoyed this article ‘Playing Dress Up’ not only for the analogy, but also because I think everyone can relate to “dressing up” or “dressing down” every day! You’re right, the choice that is made is entirely up to that individual! An encouraged student, Season Lewandowski
