Pamela, this article was really interesting to me for two reasons. First, I had never thought of fashion as having anything to do with stuttering. Your connection is something I hadn't thought of, the idea of dressing up your stuttering is different than anything i'd ever thought of. Secondly, even though I don't stutter, I too find that sometimes I dress up or down - if i'm totally comfortable with the people i'm with and what i'm doing, I don't usually worry about what to wear. But if I know i'll be in a new situation that might make me uncomfortable, I put more thought in to my outfits, as if feeling good about my clothes will help me worry less. I know my experience isn't the same as dealing with stuttering, but I feel like I somehow connected to your article. I hope you accomplish the goal you talked about at the end of your article - to be able to dress up when you want to, not when you feel you have to.You were completely right when you said that everyone should always have a choice, I feel like that's a good motto to live by. Thanks so much for sharing your story, Amberly.
