This article is truly a wonderful way to explain your feelings as a person who stutters covertly to someone without a stutter. I am an undergraduate student hoping to become a Speech and Language Pathologist. Your analogy really helps me understand what you are going through and how I might be able to one day help someone using your analogy. I do not stutter however I can relate to your analogy in my day to day life. It is easy for me to hide behind fancy dress-up clothes in an interview or a conference with a professor instead of dressing a little less fancy and letting my guard down so people can meet the real me. Your article helped me realize that maybe I need to look at my mental state in tense situations and change the way I prepare and react. Thank you so much for sharing your story, it was a pleasure to read.
