Thanks so much for your contribution to this area of helping kids. I’m an adult who stutters and involved with the National Stuttering Association (NSA) and co-lead a Family Chapter (TWST – Teens Who Stutter). I remember how tough grade school and high school were for me, and I don’t think I had many of the facts then. I remember not meeting anyone else who stuttered until I was about 20. In the last 10 years, I’ve seen how powerful groups can be for kids, teens, and parents (and adults too). There are a lot more resources now and as you write, it’s so important to know: 1. Stuttering isn’t your fault, 2. The way people act says more about who they are than who you are. 3. You are not alone. We have many resources that are linking people in the stuttering community together; NSA has a family radio show, and just started a Google hangout for the teens. There are several podcasts and blogs and newsletters, facebook groups, youtube, etc. As with anything on the internet, we must be discerning. You gave a lot of great examples of resources and the Stutteringhomepage.com has even more.
