Dear readers, We recognize that different people have different experiences in their lives and different ways of coping with the situations they face. And, we also recognize that some or even many people who stutter have experienced very bad situations as a result of other people's bigotry toward stuttering. All that said, we personally cannot condone violence as a way of responding to bullying. We would always look for other ways of responding, and as clinicians, we would always work to help our clients find a different way of responding. Each person must decide for themselves what is right. Our goal is writing this paper and in doing the work that we do is to try to ameliorate the situation before it comes to blows. Scott, Bill, Nina, and Bob.
