This helps me conceptualize the steps I can take as a future SLP to help my clients who stutter. Bullying is such an epidemic these days since school age kids feel they have no where to turn. I listened to a very interesting NPR talk a few months ago on school violence. The speaker, from Vietnam, theorized, from his experiences having to learn English as a second language, how young males who cannot fluently express themselves are prone to isolation, alienation from the community and unfortunately may turn to violence. I believe SLP's should be comfortable enough in their shoes as the clinician to recognize their client's struggle. They can help them confront bullying in an appropriate way. Thank you for the reply.
